Take it from a Pro…Don’t Settle for Par!
Living and working in Arizona for nearly 50 years, Don Graham has successfully crafted a dual career as a golf teaching professional and licensed realty broker. Don says this winning combination allows him to help his clients with two very personal desires — a more satisfying golf game and an ideal residential property they can call home. Drawing on his knowledge, experience and well-earned credentials in both pursuits, Don seamlessly connects all the dots that ensure greater enjoyment of the Southwestern lifestyle.
Don came to Arizona for the first time in 1968, leaving his hometown of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, to attend Arizona State University on a golf scholarship. After earning his business degree, his real passion was to “go pro” and chase a young golfer’s dream. For the next five years he put his skills and ambition to the test competing throughout the United States and on the Canadian and Australian tours. He became a member of the PGA of Canada in 1974. During his career as a golf teaching professional, Don has worked with the game’s acclaimed instructors, which most recently includes the Jim McLeanGolf Schools. Now a Class “A” Teaching Professional member of the PGA of Canada, Don continues to offer golf instruction on a selective basis. Mindful of giving back to the game, he lead the effort to bring the Canadian National Club Pro Championship to Sun Ridge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills in the fall of 2014.
He returned to Arizona in 1981 to pursue his business interests, eventually securing his realty broker’s license and founding his own company, Don Graham Realty. For much of his career, Don has concentrated solely on commercial retail properties, negotiating and managing the expansion plans in the greater-Phoenix area for national corporations. His prestigious client list includes such national brands as McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Golden Corral Buffet & Grille, Union Oil 76, Checker Auto Parts and Trader Joe’s. He also developed and operated his own golf learning facility called Eagle Greens in Calgary, Alberta.
Don is capable of bringing every aspect of his varied work experience into play for the benefit of his clients. His understanding of the intricacies involved in corporate and commercial real estate can be particularly helpful and reassuring. Settling on the ideal property and completing the transaction efficiently leaves no margin for error. He says guiding his clients through the process is no different for residential contracts.
Don maintains his dual citizenship and stays in close communication with his family, friends and associates in Canada. He has worked with the City of Phoenix Sister Cities program as a member of the Calgary Committee to create and promote exceptional business exchanges and social functions for the residents, businesses, and organizations with interests in both communities. The Calgary Committee stages the annual Great Canadian Picnic, an all-day event that attracts thousands of Canadians riding out winter in the Valley of the Sun.
